Catching Up and ReYup!
Hey, y’all.
I’ve been slacking on this section of the site and it’s honestly because life came at me fast in April and May. Like…real fast.
This post serves as catchup and a reyup!
April:
We closed out the #BiteSizedChallenge and so many people participated across different social media platforms! It was great to see people actively taking small steps to improve their health routines.
We discussed several monthly observances such as STI Awareness Month, Black Maternal Health Week, Stress Awareness Month, Sexual Assualt Awareness and Prevention, and Testicular Cancer. Click the links to see my Health Minutes!
May:
We brought in the month strong celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week! I’ve been teaching in the classroom for 8 years and it has been one of the most challenging, but rewarding experiences of my life. My students are my kiddos and each and every one of them has a special place in my heart.
We discussed several observances such as Allergies/Asthma, Teenage Pregnancy Prevention, Stroke Awareness, and Hypertension and Blood Pressure Awareness.
About 3 weeks ago now, I had 4 procedures done to remove these fibroids and to make sure that my reproductive system did not have any new endometrial growths. I took the advice that I’m always preaching and listened to Le Body. Le Body wanted and needed rest and thus, I gave it to her.
I am still recovering.
My stride isn’t quite normal and my kiddos make fun of how slow I walk but I am healing. I had these procedures a couple of years ago and I did not listen to my body and tried to rush to do things and the result was disastrous. I learned my lesson.
I am getting back into the swing of things and have so many things on the horizon for y’all!
I can’t wait until you see what I’ve been cooking up!
